You do not want to take them off the fingerboard because then it will take you longer to play the notes going from the highest note to the lowest note.Īfter my students have mastered being able to play each note and leaving their fingers down, then I have them try and play the notes starting with their third finger and going down to the open string. While you are playing each note, leave every finger placed down onto it’s spot on the fingerboard. You want each not to be played on a separate bow stroke.
